Ingredients
1 bunch Lacinato kale (also known as Tuscan or Dinosaur kale)
1 bunch Swiss chard
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 garlic cloves, minced
¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 cup chicken broth or vegetable broth
Salt to taste
Directions
- Trim ends, rinse, dry, and thinly cut Kale with stem and set aside.
- Trim ends, rinse and dry, and thinly cut Swiss chard with stem and set aside.
- Heat oil in a very large skillet. Add garlic and red pepper flakes and sauté for 30 seconds, until garlic is fragrant.
- Stir in the kale for about 2 minutes and then chard for an additional 2 minutes.
- Add chicken broth to skillet, stir, then cover and let cook for 2 – 4 minutes, until kale and chard are wilted and stems tender. Uncover, stir and cook for 2 minutes longer. Season to taste with salt.
